Hi there... I´m heading to the Galapagos in Feb for 10 days (flight booked) and not sure whether to do a cruise or several one day trips to different islands. I have done some research and the cruises are a little over my travellers budget! I have heard that there are several day trips that you can take from the islands, but I´m not sure where, how much and whether this would do my Galapagos trip justice.
I´d be grateful of any advice or recommendations on trips that fellow travellers have taken on the islands. Or should I just bite the bullet and get my credit card out??
Thanks |

| It is definitely possible to see lots in Galapagos without doing a cruise. There are four islands that you can stay on, so you can move around between them to get the most out of it, and go for more than just day trips. San Cristobal has some nice hikes you can do, San Cristobal the easternmost island of Galapagos is also one of the oldest. Eroded volcanic peaks in the northern part of the island and rich vegetation in the southern portion characterize the island. Hostels on the islands are slightly more than on the mainland, but still fairly inexpensive. |
