We will be in Galapagos mid-May. 2007 for 5 nights, with 2 children who are 9 and 11 years old, vey adventurous.
Would you recommend wet suits?
Would you recommend we buy snorkelling mask from the US?
Please advise.
Thanks very much. |

| We were there in January - when the water is relatively cooler and none of us needed a wetsuit for snorkeling. Of course, being from Maine we are used to cooler water so we found the water in the Galapagos quite mild. My kids are 13 and 11. They did get a little cold after a half hour or so and needed to get out of the water to warm up a bit, but a half hour at a time was plenty for us anyway. My 13 year old son is a little smaller than average and my 11 year old daughter is about average in size and, though the hotel we stayed at did have masks that were close to their size, you might want to bring your own for the kids if you have ones that fit well as it seems it's harder to get smaller sizes that fit well. |
