Hotel Residencial Flamingo

Galapagos Residencial Flamingo

Situated on Thomas de Berlanga and Bolivar Naveda, Residencial Flamingo is a hotel that sits back from the road making it a tranquil place to stay. To find it, turn right off Thomas de Berlanga when you see the hanging wooden sign that points to its whereabouts.

Enter a peaceful courtyard that’s abound with colourful bushes where tiny Darwin birds nest and twitter in rhyme amongst themselves, and there in the farm night corner behind the looming blue and white coconut tree is the small reception.

This place has twenty rooms on two different sides of the courtyard. On one side are the older more shabby rooms. These seem quite dark and slightly cramped, but they are clean and all have private bathrooms with hot water. Each one has a fan. These cost $20 for a double or matrimonial and $15 for a single.

On the other side in a newer, more solid building are some bright and airy rooms with modern décor and furnishings, clean bathrooms and nice fresh bedding. All have hot water and towels and soap are provided. They also have air-conditioning and T.V. Costs are $40 for a double and $50 for a triple.

Upstairs, construction is underway as the owner plants to build more rooms. This may be the only thing that would effect your decision to stay here, although when I visited it was very quiet and I found it very relaxing to sit in the peaceful courtyard.

Marine Adventure travel agency is also situated here and you can organise trip aboard the “Yacht New Flamingo” at the reception.
