Hotel New Elizabeth

It’s you head up Charles Darwin street, just five minutes’ walk from the harbour, you will came across a mint green construction with a winding staircase that protrudes into the sky and advertises itself in large red letters on a white background: Hotel New Elizabeth.
The reception can be found through a walkway at the left that leads you into a small courtyard where you’ll be greeted by the extremely hospitable proprietors.
This place home to twenty-one basic rooms, some slightly cramped, some dark but all with private bathrooms and are mostly comfortable and clean. All have fans, some have T.V.S and ten have hot water but cost a little extra. Upstairs is a small veranda where you can sit in the sun, whilst enjoying views of the turquoise ocean.
A breakfast of coffee, juice, eggs and bread can be purchased for $3 and eaten downstairs at the tables that sit in the courtyard. Inside is a small cramped room with a stereo and a cooker. Here you can also eat your breakfast or cook for $1, but it’s probably not worth it in such a confined area.
The owners also have a shop out from that sells almost anything a tourist might need: postcards, camera film, sunblock, t-shirts, water. Etc.
As mentioned, the people here very friendly and will try to speak English with you. Whilst I was there, they invited me for a free breakfast and will go out of their way to make you stay enjoyable.
