Hotel Santa Cruz
Situated on Baltra Avenue, 10 minutes walk from the port, Hotel Santa Cruz is a family run place with eight rooms, three singles, three doubles, one triple and one family room. Painted white on the outside with pale blue lettering, walk through a wooden from door to a small central courtyard where you’ll find the information office (the family house).
At only $7 a night, this is one of the cheapest places in town so is popular with budget travellers. The rooms are decent sized with big bathrooms and cold running water but non seem very clean.
There are dirt marks covering the walls and ceilings and you’re guaranteed to find a layer of dust under the bed and on top of any furniture. Curtains are old and worn, and in some rooms the windows won’t close. Sometimes the bedding smells fresh, although it is changed after every stay.
If saving cash is a priority then this is an ok place to stay but I would recommend choosing a back room which is slightly less noisy than those that look out onto the road.
This place is alive with sound pollution. A bearable place to stay for those saving the pennies. I would advise buying earplugs before staying here
