Hotel Urio de Mar
Hotel Urio del Mar is large yellow hotel situated on Calle Bolivar Naveda and Isla Plazas. The reception can be found by entering the building at right side of the restaurant and following the staircase up.
This place has twenty-four medium size basic rooms, all with private bathrooms and with either air-conditioning or fans. Some have T.V.S. and at present, only four have hot water, although the owner has plans to increase this number in the future. The decor is rather plain in beige, yellow and brown but beds look quite comfortable and sheets looks fresh. The bathrooms seem clean and towels and soap are provided.
Upstairs is a large empty veranda where you can pull up a chair and sit in the sun. The rooftop provides great views of the sea and Santa Fe Islands, as well as over the whole of Puerto Ayora. Unfortunately, it also provides views of the half constructed building that mar the skyline of most of this place. In spite of this, it’s a popular place to stay and I believe it’s good value for money.
Rooms cost $15 per person, per night. A matrimonial/double with hot water cost $35 per night. Triple rooms are available.
Downstairs is a simple clean restaurant with plastic tables and chair serving $2.5 almuerzos (lunches) and breakfasts. This is open between 6:30am and 2:00pm every day. The hotel is also conveniently located on a street with internet, restaurants and a myriad of hops selling clothes and food.
