BANCO DEL PACIFICO
Banco del Pacifico opens from 8:30am until 13:30pm, Monday to Friday. The desk for visa transactions closes at 2pm. Saturday it opens from 9am-12pm noon. It’s closed on Sundays. Mondays are always very busy and there’s usually a big queue trailing down the steps and on to the pavement, even before it opens so make sure you go a little later to avoid the chaos. There is an ATM outside bank, which states that it takes visa, although my Nationwide visa card has never worked there. Take your passport with you to make transactions over the desk.
Banco del Pacifico is situated halfway up Charles Darwin Street. Here there are two Bancomatico ATM machines where you can use the following cards: Cirrus / Visa / Mastercard / Nexo / Banred. There is also an ATM situated next to the large supermarket at the Pier.
MONEYGRAM
Moneygram (same service as Western Union) is situated on Calle Teodoro Wolf. Here you can send and receive money by International transaction. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 7.45am – 4.30pm and Saturdays 8.00am – 12 noon. Closed on Sundays. To contact any of the offices in Ecuador you can call: 1-700-800-900.
